LEAP Conference:What is LEAP?
LEAP, meaning Leadership for Environmental Action Program, is a program that connects SAVE with other high schools around the region. This program has connected student leaders who are looking to improve their school’s environmental efforts throughout the south-eastern Pennsylvanian region in a day of discussion, education and fun. Through LEAP, SAVE hopes to create strong ties with other schools, creating a coalition of schools working together to make a plan of action for more effective environmental programs. Where? These schools gather annually at SAVE’s SEEC campus to discuss ideas on how to improve their school and community, learning what programs are effective, and which are ineffective. SAVE also gives tours of our student-made energy efficient SAVE house as an example. Students also discuss obstacles within their schools and how to overcome them. They learn from each other what ideas work, and which do not. Contact Us ! High schools interested in joining our coalition of environmental action should contact SAVE to be included in our next LEAP conference! If you are not in South Eastern Pennsylvania contact SAVE. we are looking to expand to schools across the country. SAVE members are willing to travel to meet, learn and share ideas with any schools who want to start or to improve a student environmental group. We have much to learn from each other! Let us know, so that together we can lead our communities to a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly future! |
